Sugar Rush differs from the rest of the Pragmatic Play catalogue in where it keeps its multipliers. They are not symbols; they belong to positions on the grid. When a winning cluster clears, the positions it occupied are marked, and a position that is cleared again has its marker raised.
Wins crossing marked positions are multiplied by them. The effect is that the board itself becomes more valuable as a sequence continues, rather than any particular symbol.

How a round plays
- Symbols fill a seven by seven grid. A win is five or more matching symbols adjoining one another horizontally or vertically.
- Winning symbols are cleared and new ones drop in, which can produce further wins in the same spin.
- Each cleared position is marked with a multiplier, and clearing it again raises that marker.
- A win that covers marked positions is multiplied by the values on them.
- Markers are reset when the spin ends. In the free spin round they persist across spins instead.
That last difference is the whole feature. In the base game a sequence has to build its board from nothing; in free spins the board is already built and keeps improving.
Relatives in the catalogue
A higher-ceiling version is listed as Sugar Rush 1000. Sweet Bonanza shares the confectionery theme but uses scatter pays and bomb multipliers instead, and Gems Bonanza applies a comparable grid structure to a different symbol set. Cluster titles across all studios are grouped under Cluster Pays.
What a demo session shows
Watch how far a base game sequence usually gets before it stops, since the multiplier board rarely has time to develop outside free spins. That contrast is the clearest thing a play-money session will show you. See how demo slots work.
About Pragmatic Play
Pragmatic Play is a Malta-based studio whose titles appear in more casino lobbies across Asia and Latin America than those of any other supplier. Its house style is built on tumbling reels, scatter pays and free spin rounds in which multiplier symbols collect into a single total. Most of its best-known releases also exist in a second version carrying a higher multiplier cap, marked in the title by the suffix 1000.
- Tumbling reels: winning symbols disappear and new ones drop into the same spin.
- Scatter pays on most modern titles, so symbol position does not matter.
- Free spin rounds where multiplier symbols are added together before payout.
- Paired releases: a base version and a high-multiplier version of the same theme.
Questions about Sugar Rush
How do the multiplier spots work?
They attach to grid positions, not to symbols. A position that has been cleared by a win is marked, and clearing it again raises the marker. Wins covering marked positions are multiplied by them.
What changes in the free spin round?
The markers persist from spin to spin instead of resetting, so the board keeps the value it has already built.
What counts as a cluster?
Five or more matching symbols adjoining one another horizontally or vertically. Paylines are not used.
